March started out with a snowstorm! It was kind of weird since we have had almost no snow, but we didn’t mind too much, and Owen loved playing in it! He “helped” me shovel the walks too.IMG_4925IMG_4922

There is an empty lot next to our house and they started building a house there! Owen has been in absolute heaven watching all the big equipment come and go. And I’ve been amazed at how fast the house is going up. It’s fun to watch and it will be nice to get new neighbors (with a little boy!) and be done with  the noise!IMG_4931IMG_4971

We regularly go outside and check out what they are doing and some of the workers have been so nice to let Owen sit on the equipment. He is basically in shock and doesn’t act that happy while he’s on it, but afterwards he doesn’t stop talking about it and asking to do it again.

I adore this picture of him with his legs crossed just watching the loader digging. And he knows all the names of all types of big equipment-backhoe, loader, excavator, cement truck, skid steer, etc. If you say it wrong, he will correct you!IMG_4988IMG_4957

My matching superman boys having a yummy dinner at Hires! Owen can pound an entire grilled cheese and several fries. He already eats like an adult man. I’m a little scared for our future grocery bills with these two!IMG_4986

We went to the “fishy store” (Scheels) with Steph and my mom and he loved riding the Ferris Wheel.IMG_4974

We also had dinner at Olive Garden with the fam for Steph’s bday. Owen is absolutely obsessed with Uncle Andrew and they are so super cute together.IMG_4984

Potty training continues and it’s not perfect, but it’s definitely on the right track. Grammy bought him this huge tractor and wagon for going #2 in the potty. It goes to time out when he has an accident and we still struggle with it, but it’s getting better!IMG_4951

At the end of the month, we went to Peterson Farm for an Easter egg hunt and breakfast. The lines were ridiculous and they were way understaffed but we still love the farm. IMG_5013

Owen got the hang of getting the eggs but he mostly just loved riding in the wagon while the tractor pulled us around!IMG_5010IMG_5011

Our poor yard is just a mess right now, but it’s getting better! We love this house but the yard was in terrible shape and we (Dan) have already done tons of work to it, but Dan finally had to cut out TONS of crabgrass and we started filling in the holes with sod. It is a crappy job, but we had to do it. Hopefully we put in a lot of work this summer and fall and then things will be a lot better and less work for next year! Fingers crossed…

Since winter was basically nonexistent this year, we were able to go to the “horsie farm” at Thanksgiving Point and ride the horses. Owen was in heaven and we have since gone back a lot just for the horsie ride.IMG_4827

We also played at the park and went to Airborne Trampoline Park with some friends. It was super fun and a great deal if you go on Tuesday afternoons!

Driving cars/tractors/vehicles is pretty much all we do around here and Owen loves it. Dumping dirt and scooping it up again was enough to keep  him busy for quite a while!

Before bed one night, Owen put his blanket on his head and ran full speed into the wall! It was way sad and a little scary because this massive goose egg formed literally 10 seconds later. It was huge, but he was fine and it was gone in a few days!

The matching superman shirts are awesome. Owen loves having the same shirt as Dan and makes him put it on as much as possible. I caught these cute boys just chillin in the same pose watching TV together! They are the cutest!

We were able to do an adults only dinner with the Hill family at Buca di Bepo to celebrate Christmas. It was really nice to get together without kids and we have a lot of fun.

We started potty training at the end of February and I was pretty terrified. But I wanted to get it done before summer and I wanted to give it a really good effort to see if he could do it. He is a little young, but 6 weeks later, I can say we are good! There were a few days where I wanted to die and give up, and I almost did, but we pushed through and things are pretty good now. I know it is a process, but we have very few accidents these days and I’m so excited about it! Plus, little chubby legs in undies is the cutest thing ever!IMG_4904

Christmas and Owen’s pictures

Christmas was really fantastic this year. We woke up excited to open presents and Owen had a pretty decent understanding of Santa and opening gifts, so he tore into his presents pretty quickly. The hardest part was having to wait while we opened them so he could play with them!

It was also pretty confusing to him to get a gift and then have to set it aside and open another one. He wanted to just play with it right now!

Dan insisted Owen get a big dump truck because every boy needs one. And Owen has loved it. It was a great purchase by dad.

Santa brought him an awesome train set and I spent some time setting up a pretty sweet track.

Owen loved (and still loves) it!

My family came over around 10, which was a new thing for us. Since we live closer, we decided to have cinnamon rolls at my house and open presents then! It turned out to be great and Owen got totally spoiled by my family!IMG_4603IMG_4627IMG_4629

Steph and Andrew got him a sweet basketball hoop and he loves dunking it.

We all exchanged gifts and had fun playing with our stuff for a while. My family left and Owen went down for a nap and it started to snow! We had no snow all year and we got a good few inches on Christmas day! It was miraculous!

We stopped by Honey and Papa’s house after Owen’s nap then headed to Dan’s parent’s house for food and more gifts. It was total mayhem but super fun as always.

A few days after Christmas, we had Christmas dinner with my side of the family so we could all be there. It was at my mom’s house and lots of fun to have 4 little kiddos running around this year!

We got Owen’s 2 year old pictures after Christmas and they turned out amazing. He is the cutest thing ever and I can’t believe what a big boy he is! We just love him so much and love how much joy he brings to us and our families!

December was busy and full of fun. After Christmas was over, Dan and I looked back and realized what a great holiday season we had. We did a lot of festive things, spent a lot of time with family, and made some good memories together.

Owen loves to rock his sunglasses in the car and he looks pretty dang cute.

We went to temple square in mid-December when it was literally in the 60s during the day. We went with Mike and Hailey (Owen’s favorite person on earth). He wouldn’t let go of her hand, and insisted she push him in his stroller. It wasn’t like she was pregnant and had a 2 year old to chase around or anything…IMG_4473

Owen’s little friend Kameron finally started nursery and they held hands the whole walk to nursery that day and it was adorable. We love Kameron (and Michelle and Landon). They have become some really good friends in our neighborhood.

We had the 7th annual Hill Family Progressive Dinner and it was a success. We were only able to go to about half the houses and it still took a loooong time, but it was lots of fun, as usual!

Stickers are one of my tactics we use to get through Sacrament meeting.

Playing “choo-choos” with his cousins, Ryan and Matt.

I was able to get together with some of my girlfriends while my dear friend Shelley was in town visiting from Texas. It was super fun to just chat with no kids (Dan brought Owen home to put him to bed!) and we laughed a lot.

The Peterson Farm is right by our house and we just love it. We went with my  mom and rode a fun wagon pulled by the tractor. Owen was in heaven and got to ride on some of the tractors around the farm. They also had a cute Santa and Mrs. Clause FOR FREE and there was NO LINE. I was so happy but Owen wasn’t super interested. He wouldn’t sit on his lap, but he was fine talking to him and giving him high five. Maybe next year…

He also got to feed the cute little goats!

We went to temple square with Dustin, Kaley and Reese. Reese just really wanted to be in our picture and I love how it looks like we have twins. Those two are pretty darling together and have become good friends since we take turns watching kids each month so we can go to the temple.IMG_4559

We saw the “Tree of Life” in Draper and it was really awesome. We weren’t planning on it and it was freezing and super busy, but very cool. Owen wanted to run and of course we had no coat for him, so he threw a fit when we left.

Dan picked up this bad boy right before Christmas and he couldn’t be happier. He plays at work all the time so now we can practice together. I love ping pong and we’ve already had a lot of fun playing.

Owen’s birthday was the 23rd and we had a family party on the 21st. A lot of people made it and it was super fun. We just had lots of treats and ran around, but it was a blast. Owen got lots of great presents and he loved playing with all his cousins!

We also sang to Ryan and Ryan was so cute to let Owen try to blow out the candles before he did. Love these boys!

On Owen’s real birthday, we met my mom and Shelley and her cute kids at Chick Fil A. We love that place and afterwards, Shelley and kids came to play at our house for a while.

We gave Owen his presents and he got this cool easel and lots of art supplies from Ikea. It has been a hit so far, but we have yet to bust out the painting supplies!IMG_4590

We sure love this little cutie and we can’t believe he has been around for two years already! He is so much fun and we just love life with him!
